Sports Medicine
Lane Physical Therapy Center offers a wide variety of physical therapy in order to meet the needs of the people in the River Valley. Lane Sports Medicine program is a unique community service provided to decrease the risk of injury in the physically active. Lane employs two certified athletic trainers (ATC) who are experts in the field of prevention, evaluation, management, and rehabilitation of athletic injuries. The Certified Athletic Trainer
The American Medical Association recognizes the ATC as a healthcare professional, and the AMA recommends certified athletic trainers in most high schools to keep America’s youth safe and healthy. Specifically, the ATC specializes in five practice areas:- Prevention of athletic injuries
- Recognition, evaluation, and immediate care of athletic injuries
- Rehabiliation and reconditioning of athletes
- Healthcare administration
- Professional development (continuing education hours are taking every year)
Outreach Program
Lane Sports Medicine outreach program provides free event coverage for local school districts as well as university, and numerous community events. Athletic trainers are working at some schools every afternoon as well as during athletic competition affecting nearly 2000 student athletes in the River Valley.
